Harrington Raceway & Casino takes a fun and practical approach to gaming, for both its guests and team members. The safety and welfare of our visitors is our utmost concern, which is why we have established a number of new policies and procedures.

We stress the importance of responsible gaming. And by educating our staff and patrons about the importance of responsible gaming, we aim to help those who are struggling with gambling disorders.

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS:

  • Gambling makes home life unhappy
  • Feeling remorse after gambling
  • Gambling to escape worry or trouble
  • Changes in sleeping or eating habits due to gambling
  • Loss of work time due to gambling
  • Borrowing to finance gambling
  • Considering or committing an illegal act to finance gambling
  • Considering self-destruction as a result of gambling

Underage Gambling

Delaware State Law prohibits any person under 21 years of age to play or place wagers at or collect winnings from any slot machine. Harrington Raceway & Casino prohibits any person under 21 to enter the Slot facility.

Harrington Raceway & Casino prohibits any person under 18 years of age to place wagers or collect winnings from the pair-mutual clerks in simulcast or live horse racing.

Responsible Alcohol Service

Harrington Raceway & Casino reserves the right to deny the service of alcoholic beverages to patrons who are, or appear to be intoxicated. Delaware State Law prohibits the possession, purchase and/or consumption of alcoholic beverages to persons under 21 years of age.

Tobacco Products and Minors

Harrington Raceway & Casino prohibits the service or sale of any tobacco products to persons under 18 years of age.

Unattended Children

Security will attempt to locate the parent or guardian of any child left unattended on the State Fairgrounds. If a parent or guardian is located, he or she will be advised of company policy and the child will be returned to his or her care and custody once the parent or guardian has presented proper identification.

Dependent on the circumstances, police intervention may be a necessity. Parents or guardians who do not comply with this policy will be required to leave the property. If a parent or guardian cannot be located within one hour, Delaware Stare Police will be contacted and the child will be placed into their care and custody. The Delaware State Police will determine whether to contact the Delaware Division of Youth and Family Services.

Pets

Harrington Raceway & Casino does not allow unattended pets left outside of the building.

If you desire to exclude yourself from Harrington Raceway & Casino please see any staff member of the Security or Slot department.

A support group for the spouse, family and friends of the problem gambler, who may need help to cope with the emotional and financial stress associated with this disorder. Professional Counseling

Trained therapists and addiction counselors can help gamblers to understand this addiction and develop new coping skills to deal with the stress of everyday living. Intensive outpatient programs as well as inpatient and residential treatment are also available.
